HISTORY  of  the ROCK GC

Original construction of the front nine holes was undertaken in the 60's with the course named Rushmore.  Subsequently, the back nine holes were added in the 80's and the name changed to Fountainhead. In 1993 the Booth family purchased the course, renamed it Plymouth Rock to alert the public a new experience would be forthcoming, and undertook a major renovation to improve the entire facility.

Since then upgrades have been made to the course each year in a methodical and affordable way, hence the motto "getting better every year."  Generally, the course work and improvements have been and are accomplished by the outstanding quality employees who have worked at the Rock.

To facilitate the changes, the course has owned a bulldozer, excavator, back-hoe, dump truck and massive ditch witch in addition to the normal golf course machinery paraphernalia... lots of big toys for old boys & girls to play with.... it's been kind of like a grown up sand box!

Among other improvements, the course now enjoys automated watered fairways, tees, and greens; state of the art equipment; a complete driving range; a huge equipment storage facility & separate maintenance barn; a large outdoor pavilion which can seat comfortably up to 175; a well equipped pro shop; 70 quality golf carts; and many more such amenities.

Although the course is still not Augusta National, Pebble Beach, PGA West, or other such places, we are a nice golf course which will please most of the American golfing public.
